Summer 1 2018 (April/May)

This half term our learning journey is all about animals. We will be learning about farm animals and wild animals (jungle/rainforest animals).

Spring 2 2018 (February/March 2018)

Our Learning Journey will focus on 'Growing' and we are going to be 'Explorers'. We will explore and find out about how plants and animals grow and change. We will be comparing and contrasting by using the key questions 'What's the same?' and 'What's different?'

Please note the key dates on the newsletter. There are many opportunities for you to come into school this half term. We very much look forward to welcoming all parents, carers, grandparents to our events this half term.

We will use the story of Jack and the Beanstalk to support and extend some of our learning. We will also use the Titch stories too. Please read or tell any of these stories to your child to help them with their learning journey.

Spring 1 2018 (January/February)

The theme for our learning journey this half term is 'Nursery Rhyme Superheroes'

We will focus on some nursery rhymes, for example Incy Wincy Spider, Jack and Jill and Humpty Dumpty. We will also learn some superhero versions of the rhymes.

 

It will really help your child if you could extend and reinforce their experience of rhyming

  • sing or say nursery rhymes with them
  • read rhyming stories
  • work together to say rhyming lists
  • play rhyming bingo
  • find rhyming pairs
  • use the internet (if you have access) and play with your child on the games and apps available
