PE

In P.E. we will incorporate certain elements throughout the year. These will include:

  • Warming up and cooling down - how and why we do this
  • Staying safe while exercising
  • PE as part of a healthy lifestyle 
  • Sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play
  • Competing - being a good winner and loser!

 

Autumn Term:

This term we will be learning gymnastics. We will practise moving different parts of our bodies, travelling in different ways such as jumping, turning, balancing, and remaining still. We will learn about how our bodies can move in different directions and we will practise making different shapes with our bodies. 

Spring Term:

Children in year 1 are really lucky…this half term they will be having cricket coaching on a Wednesday morning, AND football coaching on a Friday afternoon.

                                                                     

 

This is a wonderful opportunity for them, but in order for them to be able to take part it is important that they have appropriate P.E. kit with them. The sessions will take place either in the hall or outside, depending on the session focus, and on the weather. Children really need to have both indoor and outdoor kit at school all week.

Just to remind you, this is:

  • Black shorts

  • White t-shirt

  • Tracksuit bottoms

  • Sweatshirt

  • Trainers / plimsolls

Please speak to your child’s teacher if you cannot provide these items.
