In February, 12 children from Redwood and Maple went to Bramcote College to compete against other schools in a basketball tournament.
In January, we visited the National Space Centre in Leicester. We enjoyed exploring many different galleries and learning lots of facts about space.
On the last day of term, Year 5 and 6 had their Christmas party. We played games, danced to music and enjoyed delicious party food that the children had brought to share.
In November, some of our Year 6 children completed the Bikeability course. This involved learning how to ride safely on the road. Each child was presented with a certificate and badge to celebrate passing the course. We are very proud of their achievement.
As part of our topic on The Lady of Shalott, Mrs Seeley brought in a sword, helmet and gauntlets for the children to try on. We all really enjoyed pretending to be a knight!
During the first week back, the children held elections for their Class Council Ambassadors. Candidates wrote reasons why they should be chosen to represent the class and the whole class cast their vote in the ballot box. Here are some photographs of the election process.
