Our Trip to Perlethorpe Park: The children showed great confidence when acting out traditional tales in the woods. They also displayed fantastic creativity with their den building. Well done Redberry Class and thank you to all of our helpers!

Easter Bonnet Parade: What a fantastic afternoon. The children all looked fabulous. Thank you. We were so proud! The children have also learnt about why we celebrate Easter and even tasted hot cross buns! Great enjoyment and great learning.

Teddy Bear Hospital: The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about how to look after their bodies! They learnt about the importance of exercise, healthy eating, x-rays and how to keep their bones healthy and they also made their own Doctor's bag. Great enjoyment and great learning with their teddies!

Tuesday 20th March: National Oral Health Day - tickle your teeth!

Friday 16th March 2018: our final STEM week activity! The children were invited to make their very own 'Ocean in a Bottle'. We had previously read 'Mister Seahorse' by Eric Carle and had investigated the similarities and differences between the sea creatures from the book and how they carried and looked after their eggs. We also talked about the process of creating the 'ocean' inside our bottles. What is happening to the water and the oil? What happens when the food colouring is added? The children loved taking part and thank you to all of our parents who came in to support us! STEM week day 3: Today the children planted their own bean seeds. We talked about the conditions that they would need to grow and what we will need to do once roots and shoots have appeared.

STEM week day 2: The children had great enjoyment making bubble wands and blowing bubbles outside. We made our own bubble mixture! Which colours can you see in your bubble? What shape is your bubble? Where is your bubble flying away to? Is your bubble the same as your friend's bubble?

Monday March 12th - Friday March 16th: STEM week has arrived! STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. All week the children will be 'explorers'; they will be finding out what is the same and what is different by taking part in a range of exciting tasks and challenges. Redberry's first task today was to explore the outdoor environment by making 'bug hotels'. They all showed great resilience and confidence when it came to designing their 'hotel'! #pride #diversity #responsibility.Please watch this space for more exciting activities as STEM week progresses.

After 'The Beast from the East', we finally managed to celebrate World Book Day. The children all looked fabulous. Thank you. #pride

To further foster our children's love of books and of reading, Redberry Class have now got a fantastic new reading corner! They can sail away with a book in our special book boats, write down the title of their favourite books and use our special seaside themed word mats to practise their segmenting and blending to read! Watch out for that shark!!!!

The children in Redberry Class have been learning about Chinese New Year. They have learnt about how and why it is celebrated, composed and written their own poems about dragons, made chinese lanterns, new year cards and lucky money envelopes. They have also had the opportunity to taste Chinese food. Lots of learning and lots of enjoyment! #diversity

Friday 16th February: Superhero dress up day! The children looked amazing. Thank you for your support! #enjoyment

The children had a fantastic Maths morning engaging in many time related activities. Thank you to all our parents who came along to support us!

Today our friends at White Post Farm brought in a range of animals for our children to handle and learn about. They had the opportunity to hold Guinea pigs, mice, rabbits, bearded dragons and also ssssssnakes! What an amazing and enjoyable learning experience for all our children.

Christmas Party Celebrations! The children had a wonderful time!

What a fantastic day at Whitepost Farm! The children (and adults!) showed great confidence when handling some of the animals and smaller creatures! They were really excited to meet Santa Claus and showed great enjoyment on the sledge rides. The nativity at the end of the day was simply wonderful. The children were praised by our guides for their good behaviour which made Miss Gleave and Mrs Keeling very proud! Thank you to all the help and support given throughout the day from our parent helpers too!

Friday 17th November 2017: What an amazing day we have all had raising money for Children In Need and also celebrating our Class Bear Snowy's 5th birthday as part of our special topic! The children enjoyed taking part in our whole school Danceathon and were excited to be invited to Snowy's birthday party where we played pass the parcel and shared his birthday cake. Redberry had been preparing for the big event all week by making party lists, wrapping presents, writing invitations, designing bithday cards and creating 'cakes' in our mud kitchen outside. Thank you for all of your fantastic support.

The children have shown great confidence and enjoyment when taking part in our weekly Forest Schools activities. Redberry class love taking on new challenges and have shown fantastic perseverance and responsibility when handling new resources and equipment!

As part of our 'Celebrations' topic we have been learning about the Hindu festival 'Diwali'; The Festival of Light'! We have listened carefully to the story of 'Rama and Sita', learnt Diwali dancing, made clay divas and created Rangoli patterns using coloured rice and pasta. Take a look at our fantastic photos.

Our Class Assembly!

We had a great time sharing our learning all about the Little Red Hen and Autumn. Laurel and Redberry Class told the story of the Little Red Hen, we shared the Red Hen rap and taught our parents how to make bread. then we sang our Autumn songs!

Thank you for coming to watch us. Our confidence is growing and we already have a lot of learning to look back on with pride. 

We are looking forward to sharing more learning with you next half term!

We had a fantastic morning at Greens Windmill. The children enjoyed making bread and learning all about how the windmill works. They also showed great confidence when remebering and retelling The Little Red Hen story. Mrs Keeling and I were very proud of how they behaved. Thanks to all our helpers too!

Redberry children have started brushing their teeth in school! Two minutes soon whizzed by! Well done everyone.

Redberry had a fantastic time visiting Beeston Library today! They enjoyed looking at and choosing books to share at home and learnt all about how the library works and what it has to offer. A lovely afternoon out and thanks to all of our helpers!. We are very proud of you Redberry class!

We have been sharing the book 'Funny Bones' as part of our 'Magic Me' topic. We have been thinking about our school value 'Diversity'.
