We hope you enjoy looking at our photographs!

Monday 23rd of April: We celebrated St George's Day! We listened carefully to the story and how Saint George defeated the dragon.

After one of our children brought in some decorated stones that they had painted over the weekend we decided to paint our own stones to cheer up the Foundation Stage garden. A great idea. Fun in the sun!!

Monday 12th March: Thankyou parents for coming into our Foundation Unit today to look at our Busy Bee folders. We are all very proud of the wonderful work that we have done.

Tuesday 6th March 2018: As part of our new Spring 2 topic on 'Growing', the children in Redberry and Laurel class have started a special project to 'Grow your own Potatoes'. Please see the website link on our Curriculum page for more information. The potatoes have been 'chitting' (growing shoots) for two weeks now and have finally been planted in our grow bags. Watch this space for more photos and to track the progress that our potatoes are making!

Chinese New Year

This year it is the year of the dog! The children in the Foundation Unit have been celebrating Chinese New Year and finding out lots of different things. We all tasted Chinese food. We investigated using chop sticks and rice. We listened to the story about how the animals had a race and the winner had the first year named after them...it was the rat! Can you see some of the lucky money envelopes we made? Outside we did some dragon dancing and, in the hall, Laurel class made up their own story, 'We're Going on a Dragon Hunt'.

Laurel and Redberry used the internet to find out more about Chinese New Year. We talked about how to keep safe on the internet and to only ever use the internet with an adult.

Laurel and Redberry wrote their own Chinese Dragon poems too...there a few here for you to look at.

It was great fun using the IPads to order the numbers on the Chinese dragons!

We told our families about our learning and they helped us record it it go in our Busy Bee Books.

We hope you had a good time celebrating Chinese New Year! Kung Hei Fat Choi!

To conclude our 'Nursery Rhyme Superheroes' topic, the Foundation children came dressed as Superheroes! They looked fantastic. Thankyou. We also had a visit from Thor who read the story 'Superworm' to the children. What an enjoyable and exciting day.

We have been celebrating Pancake Day. The children have learned about why it is a special time for Christians. They helped to mix the ingredients to make pancakes then tasted them with their choice of topping. We even learnt a special Pancake rhyme. Can you spot Pop helping to make pancakes too? What did he choose to put on his pancakes?

Laurel and Redberry's Act of Kindness

We thought it would be kind to share our Christmas songs with some other people in our community. So we arranged to walk to a local nursing home and sang to the residents and the staff. The staff thank us very much and said they would like to see us again. We enjoyed singing our Christmas songs and Mrs Leafe with very impressed with our super effort walking there and back.
