Art

The Tingatinga painting style was developed in Tanzania, East Africa by a painter called Edward Said Tingatinga.

It uses bright colours and bold patterns and usually features popular safari animals.

Tingatinga paintings are very popular with tourists: they are a colourful souvenir that remind holidaymakers of their African adventures.

Create your own TingaTinga animal portraits.

Use bold, thick outlines, bright colours and (if appropriate) spots and stripes.

You can use ‘2 Paint a Picture’ if you want to draw on PurpleMash, or you can draw on paper and upload a photo.
