Home Learning

Teachers will upload daily tasks (Monday - Friday Term Time Only) for children to complete at home.  There will be lots of ideas each day to do with your child to include, Phonics, Maths and Topic work.

  • When you decide it is time for ‘adult input’, e.g. phonics or maths, use the resources given to you from the class teacher. They will recommend ways to support your child’s learning. Try your best with this and if it doesn’t last as long as you initially thought, that’s ok! Have a go another time or day that week. You can always come back to it.
  • There is no set length of time for phonics or maths inputs. We are not expecting your child to be sat for lengthy periods of time. You will be able to gauge your child’s engagement level and decide on how long the activity will last. This is something which will change daily and that you decide in the moment, rather than pre-determining.
  • If you find ‘adult input’ time is difficult, sometimes ‘Now and Then’ helps with supporting learning routines, for example; “Now we are going to do some phonics and then you can….” You might want your child to decide what the ‘then’ is.
