Another week, another maths topic! This week we will be recapping our work on Place Value and using addition and subtraction. I know we explored place value, addition and subtraction earlier on in the year and you impressed me with your skills and knowledge when we were at school but this is your chance to become an expert! Enjoy and share with me your super work! smiley

As today is the final learning day before half-term next week, we have decided that today's Maths will be linked to cooking!

Check out the video on the Whiterose website under

Hello Hazel Class! Here is this week's maths lessons, I'm really pleased with how many of you are emailing to let me know how much you're enjoying learning about fractions - I can't wait for you to show off all your new skills and knowledge when we finally go back to school! smiley

w/c 27.04.20

Morning mathematicians! Below you will find this week's fractions work - it has been so nice to hear from you and your grown-ups to let me know you're enjoying learning about fractions. Fractions are all around us - a bonus task for you is to find a fraction somewhere in your house and tell me about it on Purple Mash... here's one I found.

I had a pineapple pizza for my tea and there were 8 slices of yummy, delicious pizza. I ate 4 out of the 8 slices. I ate 4/8 (four eighths) of the pizza, this could be simplified to 1/2 (half) of the pizza.

Here's this week's maths lesson content. Please do them in the order which they are posted! I think you're going to enjoy this maths topic yes

w/c 30.03.20

Below you will find maths tasks for this week, continuing our topic of 'money'. However, these won't be paper based (unless you choose to print them) so please use your wet play books to do your maths work.

Please complete one per day and ask a grown up or older sibling to test you on Friday - this could be done with real money, perhaps you could set up a pretend shop at your house? or open a cafe so you can practice counting and using money to pay and give change.

In addition you still have the following activities to complete as and when you like...

In your home learning packs you will find:

*A TimesTables Rockstars booklet, which has 5 sessions per week TimesTables practise, as we would do daily at school. You can even listen to the TTRS playlist while you're doing it!
*TTRS battle of the bands... finishes on Friday!

On Purple Mash you will find:
*Sequence snake game
*Bond bubbles game
*2do TimesTables games (choose which tables you complete!)

You can also find your own maths related games and activities on Purple Mash - challenge yourself!
