Phonics is the tool that helps children to learn to read and write. It is the foundation of our English learning.
During Autumn 2, the children in Year 2 will be completing their Phonics Screening test as the test was cancelled in Year 1 (due to lockdown). Within this, the children are asked to independently read 40 words, these words are a mixture of real and nonsense words.
