LC: I can make links between books that I have read.
When we read books, we often think back to books or information that is similar, to help us make sense of what we are reading.
Thinking about what we already know improves our inference skills and paints a fuller picture in our mind.
Here is an example -
When we were reading Stone Age Boy, without knowing, we used the information we already had cave paintings to help us understand and add more detail to the story.
What links can you make between these two texts?

LC: I can annotate a text to identify unfamiliar words.
Today you will need to read the text about hunters, highlight (or underline with a pencil) the words you don't understand and label them with their definitions.
What strategies do we have that could help us?
*discussing with others
*thinking where we have may have heard it before
*are there hidden words within it that might give us a clue
Email me some of your definitions.
Can't wait to see them.
