Today we will be exploring the purpose of each feature in an instructions text.
Click on the document below to find the table of features.
If you cannot print the table, then draw your own on a piece of paper and fill in the features I have listed.
In the second column write down the purpose of each feature in an instructions text. Think about why each feature is important and how the text would look different if that feature was not included. Think back to when we wrote a chronological report, which has some of the same features, and try to remember the purpose of each feature.
In the final column create an example that shows the feature. You can use the WAGOLL from yesterday to help you but try to create your own using your knowledge from previous texts.
Deeper learning challenge: Explain why a chronological report and instructions might have similar features.
