Spring Term 

 We will be working through a number of writing genres including:

· Narrative

· Newspaper report 

· Explanation text 

· Instructions 

These will partly be inspired by our class books and will relate to our enquiry question. We will be learning and practising a range of Year 4 skills as we work through these genres. 

Some of the vocabulary children will be introduced will include bustling, tranquil, saturated and submerged. 

You can help by:

· Encouraging your child to practise the Y3/4 spellings.

· Hearing your child read at least 3 times a week.

Reading is an essential part of your child’s learning and progress, and it is important to talk to them about the book to check they understand it.
