Useful Information
School Morning
School gates will be open by 8:45 am. The children should line up at 8:45 and when the bell rings at 8:55, class staff will bring the children in.
Lunchtimes
Lunch is at 12:15 and includes a period of fun outside play, supervised by our midday supervisors. As we are a healthy school, please provide your child with a healthy lunchbox if your child is having a packed lunch. As we have children with nut allergies, please ensure there are no nut products brought to school. You can view the weekly dinner menu choices by clicking here.
Home time
Children will be dismissed at 3:30 pm from their home-time exit (for Y6 that is on the playground). If your children are being collected by a different adult on a particular day then the teacher must be informed. Without this, children will not be allowed to leave the school grounds.
Communication
Across Beeston Fields School, we use an app called 'Class Dojo' to communicate with families via 1:1 messenger, Class Story and School Story.
This is a free app and parents are not required to upgrade to the 'premium' version advertised by the app itself; the standard version will offer all the features needed to engage with the content we share via Class Dojo.
Staff check their Dojo messages during working hours (8am - 4pm) and you can usually expect a reply to personal messages within 2 working days.
School Uniform
All children are expected to wear the school uniform:
- Grey/black trousers, skirt, pinafore or shorts.
- White shirt, blouse or polo shirt.
- During warmer weather, children may wear a blue check dress.
- Blue jumper or cardigan.
- Black shoes.
- Children have the option of wearing our school tie.
Labelling
All items brought into school should be labelled with the child's name (including bags and coats). Children are responsible for their garments and equipment.
PE
We shall be having PE on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Children need to ensure that they wear the correct PE kit to school on these days. The school PE kit is a plain white t-shirt, blue/black shorts or jogging bottoms and plimsolls or trainers. Please make sure earrings and studs are not worn as this will stop children joining in with PE.
Other items
Please do not send your child to school with any toys or anything of special value to them. We cannot take responsibility for any items that may go missing. We will inform you if we have any special days where toys will be allowed to be brought into school.
