Useful Information

School Uniform

All children are expected to wear the school uniform:

  • Grey/black trousers, skirt, pinafore or shorts.
  • White shirt, blouse or polo shirt.
  • During warmer weather, children may wear a blue check dress.
  • Blue jumper or cardigan.
  • Black shoes.
  • Children have the option of wearing our school tie.

All items brought into school should be labelled with the child's name (including bags and coats). Children are responsible for their garments and equipment.

Other items

Please do not send your child to school with any toys or anything of special value to them. We cannot take responsibility for any items that may go missing. We will inform you if we have any special days where toys will be allowed to be brought into school.

Children need to ensure that they bring in the correct PE kit to school for their Tuesday PE lessons. The school PE kit is a plain white t-shirt, blue/black shorts or jogging bottoms and plimsolls or trainers.

From September to February, Oak class will be taking swimming lessons at Bramcote Leisure Centre on Wednesday afternoons. They will be taken by Miss Curtis and Mrs Wilson on a coach.

The swimming pool has strict rules which all children must adhere to. Please note:

  • Girls must wear swimming costumes (bikinis are NOT allowed).

  • Boys must wear tight swimming trunks (baggy shorts are NOT allowed).

  • Long hair must be tied back. Any long fringes need to be clipped back.

  • No children are permitted to wear jewellery. Earrings must be removed at home in the morning. School staff are not allowed to remove earrings for any children. Children will not be able to swim if wearing earrings.

  • Children must also remove any plasters or transferable tattoos before entering the pool.

  • Please ensure your child is equipped with a towel.

  • Swimming caps are optional.

  • If your child would like to wear goggles during swimming lessons, then a parent or carer must write a signed letter to Miss Curtis stating their permission for their child to wear them.

Nottingham County Swimming Service Guidance

Children can bring in a healthy snack to eat at break time.  Please remember we are a nut free school.

School gates will be open by 8:45 am. Children line up with their teacher and class on the playground. School begins at 8:55 am. If you arrive late, you need to come in through the School Office.

Lunchtime is at 12.00 noon and includes a period of outside play, supervised by our midday supervisors. As we are a healthy school, please provide a healthy, nut free lunchbox if your child is having a packed lunch.

Home time

Children will be dismissed at 3:25 pm from the home-time exit. If children are walking home alone or being collected by a different adult on a particular day then the teacher must be informed. Without this, children will not be allowed to leave the school grounds.
