As they enter Year 6, making sure that your child has mastered the maths objectives may be one of the most important things that you can help your child to achieve this year.

 

How can I help my child with their maths?

• Take a look at our school calculation policy! Your child may well be taught to use methods and strategies which are different to those used in the past!
• Your child will be working on a times tables target during the Autumn Term in their afternoon fluency sessions. They will need to practice their times tables target regularly at home in order to progress.
• Encourage your child to use the interactive games, videos and activities (see the children's section of the maths curriculum page) which will help them to hone their skills further.
• Support your child in completing their weekly maths homework (which will be based around mathematical areas which have been taught in school).
